AOR F1 Leagues - Season 12
PC - Sign-Up Thread

CURRENT SIGN-UP STATUS:
The sign-ups are now CLOSED for Season 12 as the season is nearly finished, so you'll have you put your patience hat on and wait for Season 13. More info on that will be announced soon after the current season!

We understand that signing up to such a long league season is a major commitment, but please only sign up if you intend to stay until the end.

Introduction:
Welcome to Season 12 of the AOR PC F1 Leagues! After 11 successful seasons on the Codemasters F1 games, it's time to move into our first season on the new F1 2016 game!

AOR is all about having an enjoyable experience on track by following proper racing rules, as opposed to the demolition derby that is public lobbies. We have built a reputation for providing clean, fair and competitive league racing, and we will do our best to ensure that this continues in the best possible way. But remember, in order to achieve this, we depend on you as a driver to respect the rules and drive in a professional and fair manner!

It doesn't matter how fast and experienced you are - with our tiered league structure we welcome drivers of all skill levels to join the fun. All we require is that you've got the mindset of clean racing. The top tier of the league structure will challenge the top drivers on the game with no assists allowed, while drivers with little experience can choose to sign up to the Rookie tier with Traction Control and ABS is allowed - while everyone in between will be placed in competitive leagues that seem to suit their pace!

F1 2016 provides us a with not only an expanded 22-car grid, but more depth to our leagues with new and returning features set to play a role in the upcoming season, such as manual starts and the safety car.

General League Information:
League setup: Each platform runs a set amount of leagues, depending on the amount of drivers signing up at the start of the season. The leagues are tiered, with the aim to have the faster drivers in the higher leagues and the slower drivers in the lower leagues. More info on how the leagues are set up can be found here.
Race format: Each race event features an 18-minute qualifying session followed by a 50% distance race.
Driver placements: With this being a new season on a new game, drivers will be placed in appropriate leagues based mainly on pace/performances shown in the time trial event and mandatory pre-season evaluation races, with less consideration for results from previous season(s). Each league may contain up to 22 drivers, plus reserves.

Day/Time:
Race day: Sundays
Start time: 8:00pm (UK time)

It is vitally important that you read and understand the full content of the threads listed above. By signing up to our leagues, you agree to abide by all of our rules, and we expect all drivers to be aware of these before entering.

Our racing rules are in place to help us enforce clean and fair racing in the leagues. As an AOR driver, it is required that you do your very best to race within these rules at all times. In short, this means no contact and no corner cutting. We also expect you to behave maturely and respectfully in the race lobby and on the forums.

Sign Up:
You should only sign up to the leagues if
● you intend to complete the full season.
● you are able to race regularly on the set race day (Sunday nights).
● you intend to be active on the forum.
● you are a clean, fair and mature racer.

In signing up, you confirm that you have read the content of the League Rules and League Information threads, and that you accept the rules and regulations specified.

Sign-Up Process:
You need to complete all of the 3 steps below in order to be granted a place in the leagues.

STEP 1 - Sign Up:
Sign up by replying to this thread, following the below template. Make sure you fill in all of the fields.

● Steam ID: [Enter your Steam ID here]
● Nationality: [Enter your nationality here]
Have you read and understood the AOR Rules? [Yes/No]
Assists used: [Enter any assists that you are dependant on using]*
● Speedtest result: [Test your connection towards a UK server at speedtest.net and add your result here]
● Pingtest result: [Test your connection towards a UK server at pingtest.net and add your result here]

*Note that drivers who are placed in Tier 1 will have to race with all assists off. TC and ABS is only available in the Rookie League.

STEP 2 - Time Trial:

To help us judge your pace and assign you to an appropriate league, you will need to set time trial times at 3 specified tracks - Silverstone, Brazil (wet) and Abu Dhabi - using the Mercedes car. When done, post your times in the Time Trial thread here.

The time trial times need to be posted before the initial sign-up deadline on 22nd September @ 18:00 UK time.

Drivers who sign up for the Rookie league do not have to take part in this.

STEP 3 - Evaluation Race:
(Only applies for drivers who sign up to the main leagues before the season has started)

As an additional means to help us judge your league placement, you will need to take part in a evaluation race, which will be hosted in the days after the initial sign-up deadline has passed. The evaluation race will allow us to see how you perform on race pace over a 50% distance race, and also give us a taste of your race craft and whether you are able to race cleanly.

The plan is to host evaluation race lobbies on all 4 nights from 22nd-25th September. When this time gets closer, a forum thread will be set up for each of these nights, at which point you will have to sign up for one of them. More information about how the race is conducted will be presented in those threads.

If you have any questions about the sign-up process or the leagues in general, feel free to send a message to a member of the F1 Team or put a post in the Main Discussion Thread.

Do I have to do the time trial stuff despite being reigning champ?
Yes please, we'd like all drivers to do it for this season, new and old, if only for reference.

For all we know you could have lost all your skill over the break :p

Side note - Can someone who's in charge of the leagues contact me privately please? Over the next couple of weeks I've got a lot of personal stuff to deal with, I'm rebuilding my PC next week and I also begin Uni on Friday so finding the time and energy to do the times is going to be a struggle. Those who know me know I would not ask this unless absolutely necessary so it would be a great help if you could PM me about it, thanks.
