AOR F1 Leagues - Season 13 Announcement

Hey guys,

As you all know, Season 12 of the AOR F1 Leagues is about to come to an end, and with "only" around 5 months until the presumed release of F1 2017, the question is: what now? Well, obviously there will be a bit of a break after Season 12 to allow both drivers and coordinators to cool down a bit after a long season, but the intention from our side is to keep the leagues going for another proper season on F1 2016!

Season 12 has incredibly been our best attended season since Season 5 all the way back on F1 2012 - over 4 years ago - with over 350 drivers having strapped on their virtual racing helmet in the AOR races this season across the 3 platforms! We understand that some drivers will not feel like jumping into another season at this stage and may look to take a break till the new game, but we also know that there are a lot of drivers who do want to keep racing, and with the amount of interest we've seen for the league over the past several months, it would be unreasonable to not fill the gap until the new game with more meaningful league racing.

Assuming that F1 2017 will launch at a similar time as the 2016 game (2nd half of August), we won't have time to run a full race calendar for Season 13, so we've drawn up a provisional 15-round calendar, starting on 23rd April and ending on 13th August. This gives us a 4-week break after the end of Season 12, and also includes 2 break weeks for the real life Canadian & British GP's to avoid clashes.

In terms of the track selection, this means 6 circuits will be left out. The coordinators have selected 12 circuits that we feel should remain on the calendar, but for the final 3 spots we'll be asking you guys - the drivers - to vote on which of the remaining tracks you'd like to see included, and we'll go with the most popular ones! Expect to see that posted up in the very near future.

Obviously, with 15 rounds the season will be a bit shorter than usual, but it's worth pointing out that there have been similarly shortened official seasons in the past as well, with S11 also having 15 rounds, S7 having 16 rounds, and S6 & S8 having 18 rounds. So we hope that many of you are excited to keep league racing in the coming months as we head towards the release of the F1 2017 game, on which we will of course have Season 14 kicking off hopefully soon after release!

We hope to have sign-ups and more information about Season 13 rolling out within the next couple of weeks, so keep an eye out on the forums!

UPDATE: Season 13 Sign-ups are now out! PC / XB1 / PS4

Cheers,
AOR F1 Team :stig:

I hope that the rookie league will disapear and have a Time Trial with the used assist to make a good league / tier selection.
So we don't end up with 6 pro drivers in a rookie league.
where can i sign ;-)

Hype! I hope the rookie league is kept for exactly that - 'rookies' - I feel there are so many drivers signing up for that who have the potential to compete well in a limited assists league!

Will calendar be randomized or will we follow official calendar and only exclude 6 races?

I think it would be cool to have custom calendar.

I was just wondering if the full time drivers of season 12 got priority of the spots in season 13?
