AOR Project CARS GT3 Leagues - Season 9
Weather Centre

Season 9 will see some awesome changes. One of the changes is, that we are introducing more dynamic weather.
On Thursdays, the week prior to a league race, we will update this thread with the weather conditions set for the rounds qualifying and race, as well as information to the race specific weather progression.

The weather settings will be identical for all platforms and tiers unless specified otherwise. Stay tuned and watch this thread!

ROUND 2: Dubai International

Dubai is always a battle against the heat. It rarely rains in Dubai.
Will you be able to preserve your tires? Or will you push hard and pit? Are you smooth enough to stay out with worn rubber?

We expect tough, hot race conditions with 3 weather slots in use:

Qualification:
Light Cloud

Race:
Clear -> Light Cloud -> Clear
Weather progression is 2x
Best of luck to all of you in this battle against the elements.

WEATHER UPDATE:

Due to a possible link between changing weather and Lobby splits / DC's we have decided to change tonight's race weather to just 1 slot of: CLEAR

We will continue to test this, but from previous races, there is a chance that the changing weather may be causing connection issues.
Previous weather was:
Clear > Light Cloud > Clear
So changing to just Clear has very little affect, but potentially provides a more stable lobby.

ROUND 3 - Red Bull Ring
Round 3 will visit beautiful Austria.
Alpine weather is always a gamble, you never know what you get.
Sometimes, you can experience all 4 seasons in a single day.

Qualifying is expected to be in the Fog.

The forecasts shows that rain will mix into the already tricky conditions, further impacting visibility.

Expect static conditions, FOG+RAIN for the race.

We are not adding weather transitions at the moment, as we suspect an issue with lobby stability being impacted by changing weather conditions.

ROUND 4 - Silverstone GP
Welcome to Silverstone! Home turf for AOR.
When thinking of the UK, many of us non-British AOR members don't only think about fish and chips and late night curries but also about the famous British weather.
Rain from any angle and direction, with droplets of every size and shape.

But fear not! You're in for a treat.

We're in luck and expect a dry day, with the clouds making way to a beautiful blue sky.

The Qualifying will still be a bit grey, with Overcast conditions.

The Race will start in Overcast conditions, only to change through Medium Cloud and Light Cloud to Clear (4 weather slots, 2x weather progression).

Round 5 - Road America
Next we're heading to Road America for a beautiful mid-July afternoon.
Park your truck near the track, fire up that BBQ, open a drink Americans refer to as "Beer" after a successful and fun race on this historic, epic track.

Light Clouds throughout Qualifying and Race ensure dry and warm conditions.

Enjoy the summer evening and maybe end the day with one of the famous Wisconsin Beer Brats, a regional speciality, as I've been told.

Round 6 - Long Beach

Welcome to Long Beach, California for a night of epic racing.

This awesome street circuit has seen plenty of world class racing in the past, from the IndyCar series, through Formula 1, American Le Mans Series, IMSA and many others.
This week, it will see the absolute and undeniable peak of it's fame when hosting AORs GT3 leagues.

Map your headlight switch to your wheel/controller and get ready for a clear night of Qualifying and Race and show the world what you can do!

Round 7 - Zhuhai GP
Welcome to Chinas southern coast and the city that translates literally to "Pearl Sea".

The Zhuhai circuit, designed by the same team that brought us the circuit in Adelaide, promises exciting racing.

We are expecting clear conditions for the qualifying and haze for the race.

ROUND 8 - Circuit Zolder

On your way to the Flemish part of Belgium you should definitely stop for some of Belgium most famous and finest treats. Loosen your belt, put on some
wide pants and try some waffles, fries, chocolate and ofcourse some Belgium beer.

If you want to do some kayaking or mountain-biking in the Ardennes we recommend you to do it before the race while it's still dry, because halfway through the race we will see a transition from heavy cloud to rain. Qualifying will be under some medium clouds.

Time and weather progression: real-time

ROUND 9 - Mount Panorama Circuit
Welcome to Bathurst!
A legendary street circuit, famous for the Bathurst 12h as well as the Bathurst 1000. A guaranteed spot for fast and close racing.
This track has a lot of extremes, a 174m (571ft) elevation difference, one of the fastest corners in closed wheel racing (the chute), unforgiving barriers and a really interesting history!

The story goes like this: During the time of the great depression, Mayor Griffin wanted to build a race track as he knew the mountain would provide premier racing and create jobs and revenue for the town.
His proposal was turned down, as there was no money for racing during the economic crisis. So he proposed a scenic drive for tourists, which was approved. This scenic drive is regularly closed down for racing. Still today, people live on this road and can only access it via the race track.

On this beautiful November morning, the 5am qualifying will see light clouds. Our 6am race will have beautiful, clear, blue Australian skies.

Have a great race!

ROUND 10 - Fuji International Speedway
The season comes to a finale in the land of the rising sun. Join us on this beautiful track, admire mount Fuji in the distance, enjoy one of the longest start/finish straights in the world of racing.

Our qualifying will see heavy cloud cover, with the race transitioning from heavy clouds to medium clouds.

We wish you all an epic finale to Season 9 and hope to see you soon for one of our shorter leagues before Season 10 kicks off.

Thank you all for an amazing S9, this place would be nothing without all of you
