XB1 - Assist Evaluation Race Thread

This is 3rd and final step of the sign-up process. This step needs to be done by all drivers.

Before registering for an evaluation race, make sure you have signed up to the league in the sign-up thread (step 1).

The evaluation races will be hosted on 4 days from Saturday 27th July - Sunday 28th July and Saturday 3rd - Sunday 4th August. You only need to participate in one of the races.

The pre-season evaluation races are being arranged for a few reasons:

● It will work as an additional means to help us judge the league placement for new drivers, by allowing us to see how you perform on race pace over a 50% distance race.
● It will give us a taste of your race craft and ability to race cleanly and stay out of trouble, and ensure that all drivers have some experience of organised online racing.
● It will show us that you are properly committed to taking part in the upcoming league season, and allow us to weed out potential inactive sign-ups before the season has started.

How to take part:
Below you can find links to a race thread for each of the evaluation race nights. Enter the thread of the race day that suits you the most, and sign up there by replying with your XB1 Gamertag. It is possible to set up multiple lobbies per evaluation race day if necessary.

If you for some reason are unable to attend all of these race nights, due to reasons out of your control, then leave a message in this thread to let us know. Drivers who fail to attend any of the races, without informing us with a good reason, will not be included in the league placements.

Evaluation Race #1 - Saturday 27th July
Evaluation Race #2 - Sunday 28th July
Evaluation Race #3 - Saturday 3rd August
Evaluation Race #4 - Sunday 4th August

More information about the races can be found within the individual race threads.

Post-race reporting:

After you have finished your race, you will need to make a post in this thread with the following information:

Race Director Images:
On the results screen after the race, enter the "race director" and take screenshots (or make a recording) of your lap times in the race director screen, and upload your pictures here. This will help us get a better overview of your race pace.

Race Report:
Qualifying Position:
Qualifying Time:
Finishing Position:
Other notes: [Add anything of note that may have affected your lap times during the race, such as incidents, mistakes, penalties, lengthy battles, etc.]

Practical info regarding screenshots:

How to take a screenshot:
PS4: Press and hold down the 'SHARE' button until a notification pops up. Alternatively, press the 'SHARE' button and then press 'TRIANGLE' to save a screenshot.
XB1: Press the home button and then Y.
PC: Press F12 (unless you changed that hotkey in your Steam settings).

How to add a screenshot to your post:
You can upload images directly to your post as an attachment by clicking the "ATTACH FILES" button underneath the text box, and then selecting the images from the folder on your computer. Alternatively, you can upload your image to an external image hosting site (such as imgur, dropbox, google drive etc) and add the URL using the "Insert image" button above the text box, and then using the "By URL" option.

Qualifying Position: 2nd
Qualifying Time: 1.29.111
Finishing Position: 2nd
Other notes: had a bit of contact on lap 2 which sent me spinning and down to 4th (last) from 1st but made my way back to 2nd (I had two three second time penalties)

Qualifying Position: P13
Qualifying Time:1:30.135
Finishing Position: P11
Other notes: started the race and got up to P7 until the pit stops all fine other than running wide at turn 4 and 10 which kept giving me warnings. Once i swished onto the mediums then I started battling for P6 and lost it 3 times on turn 12 and lost loads of time and places which I should not of done after the first time hitting the curb

Evaluation Race #2 - Sunday 28th July

Qualifying Position: P3
Qualifying Time: 1:28:758
Finishing Position: P3
Other notes: steering wheel went off centre Lap1 turn 3 until Lap 12 and sorted when pitted - apologies if I got anyone's way. Also outbraked myself a couple times but managed to give back. Lost lap24-29 on race director. Can redo eval next week if I need to.

Other notes: I was battling pretty much the whole first stint, which was part of the reason of why I went in so early. I had then a short battle on lap 15.

Race Report:
Qualifying Position: p2
Qualifying Time: 1:28:622
Finishing Position: p2
Other notes: was doing a 1stop and winning race but pitted for softs to try get fastest lap and make sure I didn’t puncture tyres. Made one mistake with outbraking myself and made a late move on george. Also felt I was forced off track and forced wide in turn 1 by dazkart with the clip being added below which was reason for my 3 second time penalty.

Race Report:
Qualifying Position: P12
Qualifying Time: 1:29:987
Finishing Position: P8 (would have been P7 but the penalty put me back)
Other notes: The 2 slow laps in Quali were cooldown laps where i ran out of fuel. I got hit up the back on lap 2 in turn 10 which is why the lap time is slow. The first penalty was for cutting the corner on the inside of turn 10 after i spun from locking my brakes. Note i went over the tarmac at half throttle to avoid getting a penalty. The second one was because i lost the back end and went wide. I also locked my front left nearly every lap going into turn 10.

Race Report:
Qualifying Position: 8th
Qualifying Time: 1:29:312
Finishing Position: 7th

Other notes:
Quali: Spent my hotlap on the medium tire almost entirely behind dazkart05 on his outlap. Never really in a spot to pass but still felt he should have moved over at any point.
Lap 1: Broke too late coming off the first drs and ended up pushing FactualImpala wide. Just after that CentricGoblin85 had more speed behind me and we made contact going up the hill.
Lap 2: I locked up going into turn 1 and dove into the inside to avoid colliding with georgeapostolo but possibly hit ghostlytony on his exit (apologies if so). I took a terrible line recovering through turn 2 and blocked george by accident.
Lap 4: Went wide at turn 10 and got a warning for track limits
Lap 17 Started catching up on VJ1429 who looked to have a red X of a connection on my end. I think I was getting close but he'd blink ahead and then on lap 18 it had looked like I had passed both him and ghostlytony but he reappeared ahead rather bizarrely. It might have been my connection at the time so if no one else noticed, then it was probably just me.

Turn 10 is an enigma and I hate it.

Solid group though. Was a lot of fun!

Qualifying Position: 11th
Qualifying Time: 1:29:971
Finishing Position: 5th

Other notes:
Q: I only did one lap in mediums because i did not want to wear the softs in this track. My experience from the Saturday's race was awful with the softs. I did not expect to be higher than that but i was sure that i would have a better race.

R: I had a slight contant at the first corner, in reality i touched a car from behind without causing it to spin but in a "damage on" race i would have injured my front wing for sure. At the second lap i had a similar incident with Hydranockz without further implications. Generally, i applied an one stop strategy, for that i followed a very conservative approach with the tires, fellow drivers and tried hard not to receive a penalty for cutting corners or speeding in the pit lane.

Corner 10 was a challenge in every lap and especially with worn rear tires at 50%. I am looking forward to the next race. Thank you.

Qualifying was decent. But I can improve little more time.

Race - I got hit from the back in the first corner and pushed to last of the grid. And spun in lap 7 and 23 but managed to get 10th.

Qualifying Position:7th
Qualifying Time:1:29:262 (10 laps of fuel in medium tyres cos I forgot to take fuel out)
Finishing Position: 4th
Other notes: going for a 1 stop easy medium to hard but with an easy 2nd place in the bag pitted for softs for 1 fastest lap and to make sure I didn’t get a puncture thought I had the pace to get back to 2nd place but no.

@Germo does my race stream provide enough info or do I need to race again
If you have time to participate in the evaluation race 3 or 4 this weekend that would be great so you can get your race director but if not it's fine as long as I know that you've done a race which you have.
