AOR Hype Energy F1 Leagues - Season 16
Announcement/Interest Thread

View attachment 53516

Welcome to the interest thread for our first league season to be ran on F1 2018!

Coming off the back of two successful seasons on F1 2017 - which saw the highest participation numbers yet, not only in the AOR F1 Leagues, but any F1 leagues around the world - we are just about ready to begin moving onto the next chapter: F1 2018. The hype is building once again with the game's release on the 24th August; we're ready to provide more clean, fair & competitive racing to the passionate league racers that make up this community!

The leagues will continue to be powered by Hype Energy Drinks, and feature live race broadcasts for the top tier leagues! There will also be some other cool new additions that will be announced in more detail as we get closer to the season, but here's a little teaser:

The leagues will continue to be powered by Hype Energy Drinks; now our top tier drivers will be fuelled by #AORHYPE too! Our official YouTube channel will of course continue to feature live race broadcasts for the top tier leagues, and there will also be some other new additions to all leagues, that will be announced in more detail as we get closer to the season, but here's a little teaser:

League Format
As usual, we plan to run our tried and tested format of a race weekend consisting of a short qualifying session (which on the new game is increased to 18 minutes), moving into a 50% distance race. We will continue to race on Sunday nights across all 3 platforms - XB1, PS4 & PC. We also have accommodation for any level of racer - whether you're quick or not so quick, whether you use assists or you don't, there's a place for you in AOR. With our tiered league structure our aim is that you will always have someone close to your pace to battle with in the races!

Regions
We will be running leagues in Europe, Oceania, and now also America! (Note - Americans with strong enough connections to meet European requirements may still choose to race in those leagues). We also aim to expand our Oceania leagues onto the PC platform as well for the first time.

When will Season 16 begin?
As always on a new game, sign-ups will open after the game has been released, as we prefer that everyone has had a chance to test the game before committing to a full season of league racing.

As we are running on a completely new game, we also need to allow ourselves time to test the online features/stability of the game. Keep an eye on the social race forums as we will need all the help possible in making sure the game and the settings we apply for the leagues work for a the best possible online racing experience. Also, to those who have asked - if the Safety Car is fixed, we will be running it in the leagues!

Once we are confident that the game is good enough to get going, that is exactly what we will do - hopefully not too long after release. We will begin rolling out sign-up threads for each platform - accompanied by time trial threads where drivers will need to complete laps at specified tracks & conditions, so that we have an idea of their pace. We will also release dates for mandatory evaluation races, usually over a weekend, which every driver will need to take part in due to it being a new game. Only one is required, however one will be mandatory. This is mainly to give us the best chance of placing drivers into as competitive leagues as possible!

Below you will find our provisional calendar for Season 16. Please note that all of the below is subject to change.

Due to conflicts with real F1 races, the start of the season will consist of more break weeks than we ideally would have wanted. We will also provide a break over the Christmas period, along with one at the back end of the season - to allow drivers to recover for one last push at the end.
