Hey folks,

So as most of you are probably aware by now we've been working on getting broadcasting together for this series. @Niclas Domino has been incredible and the catalyst in this becoming less of a hope and more of a reality.

The first few tests were carried out on @King-kodiak's own channel, but the most recent rounds have been carried out on Apex Online Racing's own channel, one of the most recent round can be found here.

For this season, whilst in a testing format, we've borrowed an account to allow KK to stream the races. This isn't ideal, because ultimately we should have our own account.

We hope to be as transparent with this as we can with the community on this.

The plan is to set up a new iRacing account purely for the sake of streaming AOR iRacing league races, and bringing the streaming in-house much like many other of our leagues, rather than paying an outside company to do it.

This will be a single account that will be given access to one commentator (for now) who will stream/commentate on the race.

In future, if this works, we'd like to add an additional account too, but that's the future.

The hope is that as the AOR community has before shown their generosity with donations for other broadcasting services that we will be able to fund this through the community.

The Cost
- The initial cost is quite high, admittedly. However, this is the most expensive part of the entire process. After this, we just have to cover costs for buying new tracks for the time being.

-Running costs for this account will eventually cheapen the more it is used. The more its used, the more tracks we buy for it as we go to them and if the account is used across multiple leagues, the likelihood is that more tracks will overlap, thus, not having to buy them again, keeps it nice and cheap. Eventually, the only that will be needed to be covered will be the subscription costs, which in the long run isn't too expensive.

For the upcoming GTE League, which will only have 10 rounds because 2 rounds will take place on the 24th and 31st of December, here are the predicted costs:

Cost of a new subscription - 2 year new sub including the 50% off: $99.50
654.png

Cost of one GTE car - $11.95
Cost of 10 tracks (At the most expensive $14.95, so it may be cheaper) - $149.50

Total: $260.95/£203.57/€230.08

Ultimately, this is expensive, but like I said. This is the most expensive part, it will get cheaper once we get using it more often. Also, this is cheaper than paying another company for a single season, based off the cost for Season 11 of AOR Formula Renault 2.0 League.

The Cons
This is a work in progress. In terms of the raw, base product. I can't say straight up that at the minute, this broadcast is on par, as good as broadcasting company. For example, at the minute we can't do replays. It's something we're working on, but it's not something we can guarantee right now.

The Pros
We have the ongoing ability to adapt, and learn and improve. It'll be cheaper, but will remain cheaper whilst hopefully improving.

We hope the AOR community will be willing to donate to support this. We will openly admit that of the donations, once we hit our target, a small amount of the remaining money will go partially to the commentary team, and to @Niclas Domino, for his continual improving and updating of the overlay and skin pack.

Please respond to the poll with an amount you would be willing to donate, if possible. It's not mandatory, we are not becoming a pay-to-race league. But obviously if you want broadcasting, then these sort of things cost money.

Thanks for reading!
