Description: As you can see Francis set his fastest lap on us, then must have invalided his lap or something. basically he wanted to start on S or M as it’s the best strat. He couldn’t do so and was on US, he then thought he’s get DSQ to the back, which was only p13. Even better for him to get on either of the tyres. Not only is he breaking a rule but he’s cheating to gain an unfair advantage on stratgery over other drivers. If a driver was p11 on us they would have got t p10 And it would have hugely impacted there race. He disqualified himself on purpose to start in fresh tyres outside of top 10 after setting poor lap on US and worst strategy.

Thankfully that wasn’t the case but this is no fair and against the rules.

Can I add he went on to DNF.

The stewards have discussed this enquiry and have come to the following conclusions.

We feel that @Francis mcginn actions here fall under unsporting driving. He will be given 5 penalty points for intentionally DSQ his car and 5 penalty points for parking his car on track. While we do appreciate moving off of the racing line for this, it's still not safe to stop your car in a qualifying session at any point.

In future cases like these will come with a qualifying ban. However as this punishment was not explicitly stated in the rules at the time this penalty will not be applied here. So it is just the 10 penalty points today.
